Canada’s Talent City
Historically, cities were intrinsically rooted in their proximity to tangible natural resources, from navigable water to agricultural or valued minerals. However, technology, globalization, and demographics have reframed cities by their capacity to attract, retain, and mobilize human capital.
The CityXLab was established because we believe the future of cities will be defined by their ability to deliver learning, creative, and active experiences to their citizens.
The CItyXLab conducts rigorous research that blends the insights of Calgary-based scholars and professionals. The Institute for Community Prosperity at Mount Royal University facilitates the Lab, which will deliver its activities through the collaboration of commercial, social, and public community partners.
Our integrated research program explores research in six areas related to developing and delivering experiences:
In a fast-changing world, talent—or human capital—is the key to unlocking long-term economic growth.
